Our story: Experience beyond the numbers
Most incorporated business owners don’t need another accountant to record transactions—they need someone who understands what it’s actually like to run a business.
Ted Maclean is a CPA and advisor who works closely with owner-managed businesses to help them make better decisions, reduce tax, and plan for what’s next—whether that’s growth, transition, or exiting on their terms.
With over 20 years of experience serving small and mid-sized businesses, Ted goes beyond compliance. He helps clients navigate the real issues that keep owners up at night: cash flow pressure, hiring challenges, tax complexity, succession planning, and balancing business success with personal goals.
What makes Ted different is his hands-on business background. Before focusing on accounting and advisory, he built a corporate career across project management, HR, quality assurance, research, and venture development. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and brings that broader perspective into every conversation—connecting the numbers to what’s actually happening in the business.
He’s also stepped directly into leadership roles within client companies—guiding turnarounds, supporting acquisitions, and helping owners execute successful exit strategies. That experience gives him a practical, real-world understanding of how decisions play out beyond the financial statements.
Ted has worked across industries including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and government, but today his focus is clear: helping incorporated business owners and their families make smarter, more integrated decisions.
He works closely with lawyers and financial advisors to align corporate strategy with personal tax planning, estates, and trusts—because for business owners, everything is connected.
If you’re looking for someone who can see beyond the books and help you think through the bigger picture, Ted brings both the technical expertise and the business experience to guide you forward.
